The Story Behind SOXKey

SOXKey was founded by an ICFR and SOX 404(a) compliance veteran with over two decades of frontline experience. While SOXKey may be a young company, our foundation is deeply rooted in this extensive experience, giving us invaluable insight into the nuances of SOX compliance hurdles and prevalent recurring pain points such as unpredictable and rising costs, inconsistent quality, and tester availability issues.

Our founder’s 20+ years of hands-on experience involved managing SOX 404(a) testing teams and working closely with clients navigating complex regulatory requirements without the extensive support available to larger corporations. Working with a client base of mostly repeat clients, she frequently had to decline projects due to bandwidth constraints. She recognized the lack of solutions designed for these companies contributed to the high demand. This market need drove the creation of SOXKey, dedicated to providing cost-effective, high-quality SOX 404(a) compliance solutions specifically for under-resourced companies.

This vision inspired the creation of SOXKey’s proprietary testing workflow, designed to deliver consistent, and high quality outcomes. Our process optimizes team collaboration, technology, and quality assurance to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and cost effectiveness every time.

Our Founder

Sin Leng is a seasoned professional with over two decades of consulting experience. Her expertise spans risk-based internal controls framework design, implementation, evaluation, and testing across diverse industries including SaaS / software, manufacturing, insurance, retail, and healthcare. In addition to control design work, she has also managed audit plan executions and teams for notable clients such as – AMD, Dell, and Tokyo Electron. She holds a master’s degree from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and has been a Certified Public Accountant for over 25 years.

Throughout her extensive career, Sin Leng has explored various roles, including external auditing. Yet, she consistently finds herself drawn back to internal audit / control, an area where she thrives as a self-proclaimed “unabashed nerd” – Her fascination with how things work, whether it’s business processes, IT systems, or people and productivity, is fueled by her neurodivergent perspective. She practices an “Everything is Connected” mindset, combining systems thinking, critical thinking, and a broad knowledge base from reading widely across disciplines. This forms a solid problem-solving framework that emphasizes deeper analysis of root causes, enabling more effective solutions.

Beyond her professional achievements, Sin Leng is passionate about the arts and community engagement. She founded Lucky Chaos, a nonprofit organization dedicated to showcasing works by artists from under-represented communities, with a particular focus on personal stories and mental health. Since 2012, she has produced over 50 theater, film, festival, and community events.
